CONTEST CHALLENGE TASK 2002-1

Happy New Year!

We begin the year 2002 with v6, a brand new release of TINA PRO, rich in new features.

Please download the new TINA PRO v6 demo version from here.

Here’s our first Challenge Task. We will give away one student version to each of the first five winners.

The schematic diagram above shows a full wave rectifier circuit with a hidden fault. The fault could be anywhere, but the circuit contains only one defect. Press the   “Faults Enabled” button or the same command from the Analysis menu to analyze the faulty circuit.

Run Transient analysis (via the Analysis/Transient menu) to check the operation of the circuit as seen at the output terminals.

Examine the Transient analysis curves to find out what is wrong and locate the defect. You can use any of TINA’s instruments and make any virtual measurement to locate the defect.

Repair the circuit. Use the Insert/Shape/Arrow and the Text commands to indicate the repaired part.

Copy and paste the repaired schematic and the before and after transient response diagrams into a document with the description of the defect and the repair. Email the document to us (in zipped form, if you like).
